Coffee Experiment

Starting today I am beginning an experiment to not drink coffee, even decaf.  I came to this conclusion after drinking a single cup of regular Monday and sleeping poorly for the next 3 nights.  A discussion on OEvolve brought up other potential improvements to inconveniences I have.  As was pointed out, coffee is more than just caffiene, so the other stuff in my decaf might be problematic.  Also, decaf isn't totally caffiene free.

Another side benefit is that it will force me to give up the last, lone staple dairy in my diet.  I drink a small amount of milk in my daily dry cappucinnos.

I hate to give up coffee since I enjoy it so much, but sleep and other improvements are definitely worth giving it a try.  It should be fairly easy as I am not addicted.

Jeff,
There's more to life than focusing on eating. Some things, IMHO, are done for pure enjoyment. I would suggest drinking coffee, but only in the morning like I do.

Just a thought.

Jodi,

Who said anything about focusing on eating? There is nothing obsessive or compulsive here. I am more than happy to do things just for enjoyment, but if and when they get in the way of other things I need to reconsider. This is just a test to see if something improves my life or doesn't.

Greg,

I will keep you posted.

Doug,

Many feel that way. I, personally, hate the idea of being addicted to anything.

Jeff,

I hate the idea of being addicted too...but sadly, as a chronic shift worker, I'm definitely addicted.

How's the experiment going? I really dig the taste of coffee. Now enjoying it 100% black. Been thinking of dialing it back a little, but dont think i'll ever stop entirely. Even if i have to resort to decaf.

Andy,

Experiment going very well, but I want to wait another 2-3 weeks to post the details. Benefits took a good 5-6 days before noticing.
